Select many, act once
Select conversations with Ctrl-click, Shift-click or the x key, then close, label, assign, snooze, move or merge them together. Closing, moving and trashing show Undo.

What it does
One selection, one action
Select your way
Ctrl-click or Cmd-click to pick, Shift-click for a range, x to add one, Ctrl A for all loaded.
A panel of actions
The reading pane becomes the count and every action, each with its key.
Undo is there
Closing, moving and deleting show Undo, for as long as you choose in Settings › General.
On a phone too
Long-press a row to start, and the same actions wait in a bar below the list.
How it works
Select, act, undo
- 1
Select
Ctrl-click or Cmd-click conversations, or Shift-click to take a range from the open one. Ctrl A takes every conversation loaded.
- 2
Act
Close, mark read or important, assign, label, move, snooze, pin, merge, mark as spam or trash, all at once.
- 3
Undo or clear
Use Undo in the notice if it was a slip. Esc clears the selection.
Good to know
The details
- Where
- Any list. In Trash, only Restore and Delete permanently are offered.
- Select all
- Ctrl A selects the conversations loaded in the list so far, not the whole mailbox.
- Permissions
- Moving shared mail to Trash or Spam follows Settings › Permissions, and those actions are left out where you may not.
- Phone and tablet
- Swipe actions do the same job: swipe further for a second action, and drag down the list to do it to more rows.
- For developers
- Update many threads changes up to 200 conversations in one API request.
