Merge conversations
Drag one conversation onto another to make them one. Messages, notes and team chat combine by date, labels come along, and you can undo the merge or split a message out later.

What it does
Two threads, one conversation
Drag and drop
Drop a conversation onto another in the same mailbox, or choose Merge with… in the right-click menu.
Everything in date order
Messages, notes and team chat go into one conversation, with the labels of both.
You choose what stays
Pick which subject, assignee and status the merged conversation keeps.
Undo, or split it later
Undo right after, or split a message back out later from its ⋯ menu.
How it works
Drag, check, merge
- 1
Drag
Drop a conversation onto another. To merge several, select them and choose Merge.
- 2
Check
The dialog asks which subject, assignee and status to keep, and names anyone who would gain or lose access.
- 3
Merge
Confirm. Later replies land in the merged conversation, and the notice offers Undo for a few seconds.
Good to know
The details
- Who can use it
- Anyone who can see the mailbox. Someone who was only given one conversation cannot.
- Limits
- Up to 20 conversations in one merge. Conversations in Trash or Spam cannot be merged.
- Other mailboxes
- Drop onto a conversation in another mailbox to move it there and merge, with a note of who gains and who loses access. A private mailbox is never merged with another.
- Nobody dropped silently
- Anyone a merge takes off a conversation is told, and Activity names them. Undo takes both back.
