Mark all as read
Mark everything in a view, a label, a team or a whole mailbox as read in one go, from the sidebar. It changes only your own read marks, and Undo brings them back.

What it does
Clear the backlog
From the sidebar
Right-click an item, or long-press it on a phone, and choose Mark all as read.
Any size of list
A long list is marked in batches, and a notice shows its progress.
Only yours
Read state is personal, so colleagues keep their own unread marks.
Undo it
The notice says how many were marked and offers Undo, which marks them unread again.
How it works
Right-click, choose, undo
- 1
Right-click
Right-click a view, label, team or mailbox in the sidebar, or long-press it on a phone.
- 2
Mark all as read
Every conversation in that list that you have not read is marked read.
- 3
Undo a slip
The notice offers Undo, which marks those conversations unread again.
