Any mail provider
Keep the provider you have. Gmail and Microsoft 365 connect with a sign-in, iCloud with an app password, and any other mailbox that offers IMAP and SMTP works too.

What it does
Your mail stays where it is
Gmail and Microsoft 365
Sign in with Google or Microsoft. DMU Mail never sees the mailbox’s password.
Servers found for you
For other domains DMU Mail looks up the mail servers itself, including those cPanel and Plesk hosting publish.
iCloud and app passwords
iCloud connects with an app-specific password, and any account with two-step verification can use an app password too.
Nothing moves
Your mail stays with your provider. DMU Mail keeps a synced copy so the team can work on it together.
How it works
About two minutes
- 1
Enter the address
DMU Mail checks who runs its mail. Google and Microsoft addresses offer a sign-in. For other domains it looks up the servers, or asks you for them.
- 2
Sign in
Use the Google or Microsoft window, or give the username and password or app password, as any mail app would.
- 3
Test and add
DMU Mail tests reading and sending before anything is saved. Then you choose who can see it and whether to import history.
Good to know
The details
- Who can use it
- Administrators add shared mailboxes. Members can add a private one of their own.
- Where
- Settings › Mailboxes, then Add a mailbox.
- What works
- Gmail and Google Workspace, Outlook.com and Microsoft 365, iCloud Mail, Zoho Mail, cPanel and Plesk hosting, and any IMAP and SMTP server.
- Safety
- A saved password is encrypted and never shown again. With a Google or Microsoft sign-in, DMU Mail never holds the password at all.
- If it stops working
- A banner says so, and whoever manages the mailbox can reconnect it. Mail already in DMU Mail is safe, and syncing carries on from where it stopped.
