Import contacts
Bring in an address book from a CSV, vCard, JSON or XML file, or start from the people you have written to. Contacts you already have are updated, never duplicated.

What it does
Your address book, in
From a file
CSV, vCard, JSON or XML, such as an export from Excel, Outlook, Apple Contacts or a CRM.
Columns matched for you
Columns are matched to fields by name, Greek names included. Change any of them before you import.
From your own mail
Choose from the people you have written to over the last 3 months, 12 months or all time.
No duplicates
A contact with the same email address is updated, not duplicated. You see the counts first.
How it works
Choose, match, import
- 1
Choose the source
In Settings › Contacts choose Import. Pick a file or the people you have written to, and whether the contacts are shared or yours alone.
- 2
Check the counts
DMU Mail reads the file and shows how many contacts are new, how many match one you have and will be updated, and how many are skipped.
- 3
Match the columns
Columns are matched to fields by name. Change any of them, your own fields included, then choose Import.
Good to know
The details
- Who can use it
- Anyone can import contacts of their own. Importing shared ones needs Edit shared contacts, which an administrator can limit in Settings › Permissions.
- Where
- Settings › Contacts, then Import.
- Limits
- A file can be up to 10 MB, with up to 20,000 contacts and 100 columns.
- Skipped rows
- A row with no email address, or one that repeats an address already in the file, is skipped.
- If it stops
- An import that stops part way keeps what it saved. Import the same file again to finish, and nothing is added twice.
