Saved replies

Write the answers you send again and again once, then insert them into any message in two clicks. Blanks such as an order number ask for their value as you go.

Response templates in settings: saved replies with variables.

What it does

Write it once

  • Two clicks to insert

Choose Saved replies in the message, pick one, and it goes in at your cursor.

  • Blanks that ask

Put a name in double curly brackets and DMU Mail asks for it when the reply is inserted.

  • Filled in from the contact

Custom fields such as an account number fill in on their own from the person you write to.

  • For everyone or one mailbox

Keep the invoice answer in the accounts mailbox, so it stays out of the support inbox.

How it works

From template to message

  1. 1

    Write it

In Settings › Response templates, choose New template. Give it a name, an optional subject and the text.

  2. 2

    Add blanks

Where a detail changes, write a name in double curly brackets, such as {{order_number}}.

  3. 3

    Insert it

In any message, choose Saved replies, pick one and choose Insert. Fill in the blanks it asks for.

Good to know

The details

Who can use them
Everyone who can see a reply can insert it.
Who can make them
Administrators choose, in Settings › Permissions, who makes replies for the organisation. Anyone can make one for their own private mailbox.
Where
Settings › Response templates, and the Saved replies button under every message you write. The message calls them saved replies and Settings calls them response templates.
Left blank
A blank you leave empty stays visible in the message, so you see it before you send instead of sending “Dear ,”.
For developers
List, create, change and delete saved replies through the API.
