Connect a mailbox
Connect any mailbox that offers IMAP and SMTP. It takes a couple of minutes, and your history imports in the background.

Before you start
Steps
Open Settings, then Mailboxes, and choose Add a mailbox.
Enter the address and its password. DMU Mail looks up the server settings for your domain. For Gmail or Microsoft 365, choose Connect with Google or Connect with Microsoft instead and sign in there.
Check the servers. If they weren’t found, your provider’s help pages list them.
Choose who can see the mailbox: everyone, a team, or only you. An administrator can share it with more teams and people later.
Choose how much history to import: everything, a year, six months or a month.
Review and connect. The history keeps importing in the background while you work.

All with SSL. Use your full email address as the user name.
If it doesn’t connect
“Wrong password”
Check it in your provider’s webmail. If two-step verification is on there, create an app password and use that instead.
“Couldn’t reach the server”
Check the host name and port. Most providers expect SSL on port 993 for IMAP and 465 for SMTP.
A Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox
Don’t type a password for these. Choose Connect with Google or Connect with Microsoft on the first step and sign in there. DMU Mail never sees the password.
